Make a This Week In Science Post

1. Log onto blogger.com with your NDHS email.

2. From your blogger dashboard click on New Post.

3. Title your post This Week In Science.

4. Type your 2 paragraphs.


5. Tag your post!  You must include the tag science in order to get credit!! 


6. Publish and you're done!

Post a Video to Your Blog

1. Click on the video icon.

2.  Click choose a video to upload.
3. Find your video file.  (Click student, then pictures, then photobooth, then find your video.)
4. Click insert.

Make a Video

Overview: This post will explain how to make a video and then put it on the blog.

Making the Video
1.  Open Photobooth

2.  Click on the video button in the lower left corner.

3. When you are ready to make your video click the video camera button.



4. 3....2.....1..... GO

5. Your video is automatically saved under photobooth.


Make a New Tab on Your Blog

Overview: This post explains how to make a new tab, which will be your "Science and I" tab, in your blog.

1. Go to blogger.com and sign in with your new design email.

2. From your dashboard click on new post.

3. Next click on "edit pages".


4. Click on "New Page".
Creating Your Tab
1. Title your page "Science and I".
2. In the blank space on your page put your Science and I video followed by your paragraphs. Click here to learn how to make a video for your blog.

3.  Click on "blog tabs"
4. Click save and publish.

Get Back to My "Science and I" tab and Edit

Overview: This post explains how to get back to your "Science and I tab" and how to edit it.

1. Log onto blogger.com with your new design email.

2. From your dashboard click "Edit Posts".

3. Click on "edit pages".

4. Click on edit under your "Science and I" page.


5. Make your changes and push publish.

Edit your blogger profile...

Overview: After you have created your blog portfolio, follow these instructions to edit your blogger profile.

Sign in to blogger:
  • Sign in to your @newdesignhigh.com Gmail account.
  • Go to www.Blogger.com.
  • From the Blogger Dashboard, click on the "Edit Profile" link.
Edit your profile:
  • Green fill out highlighted sections.
  • Red do NOT fill out (leave blank).
  1. Privacy
    1. Check  "Share my profile"
    2. Uncheck "Show my email address"
    3. Check "Show sites I follow"
  2. Identity
    1. Make sure "Email Address" is your @newdesignhigh.com address.
    2. "Display Name" is your first name only.
  3. Photograph  - Upload a picture of yourself.
  4. Audio Clip
  5. General
  6. Location
  7. Work
  8. Extended Info  - Fill out the following boxes:
    • Interests
    • About me
    • Favorite movies
    • Favorite music
    • Favorite books
    • Random question
  9. Click "Save Profile" 




Create your blog portfolio...

Overview: Follow these instructions to create your Blog Portfolio!  This portfolio will enhance your digital footprint and allow you to share the work you do in your classes with the world!

Written Instructions...

Creating the Blog....

1. Log onto mail.newdesignhigh.com
2. Go to blogger.com
3. Your Dashboard will open up.  This is where you can access all of your blogs and make changes to your settings and information.
4. Click on Create Your Blog Now in the blue box.
5. Verify your account: Enter your phone number and click "send verification code."  (If you do not have a phone, or do not have your phone with you please ask your teacher for help).

6. Enter the code you receive in a text message into the verification code box and click "enter".

Naming
1. YOU MUST NAME YOUR PORTFOLIO EXACTLY AS YOU'RE ASKED. Click here to find out your Blog Title and URL.

2. Blog Title: Enter your First Name followed by Portfolio for the blog title. 

3. Blog address (URL): Copy and paste the URL listed for you onto the blog URL. Remove any spaces. Click continue.



4.  Select the "Simple" template for now.

5. Click the Blogger icon in the top left corner to get back to the dashboard.
